The one-day Opportunity Workshop series heads to Belize, Grenada, and Dominica starting next week to seek local help in communicating the rights, benefits and access points of the CARICOM Single Market to CARICOM nationals. Public and private sector representatives are set to brainstorm strategies that will increase awareness among CARICOM nationals of their right to work, travel and do business in 13 CARICOM countries.
The series is one of the first set of activities in the busy workplan of the CSME Information Flows project being implemented by Right Angle Imaging of St Lucia in collaboration with Member States.
Opportunity Grenada kicks off on Wednesday November 26 at the Ministry of Trade conference room in the capital. Opportunity Belize is set for Friday November 28 all day at the Belize Biltmore in Belize City, and Opportunity Dominica is scheduled for Thursday December 11 in Roseau.
The Opportunity Workshop series is the selected brand for Communication for Development (C4D) Workshops – a true participatory process where the “voice of the people” is paramount and their stake in the process emphasized. The Workshops provide a golden opportunity for private and public sector interests to determine the form and shape of public education strategies on the CARICOM Single Market. It also helps them craft strategies that will help nationals realize the endless opportunities to work, travel and do business in CARICOM. Their input is expected to identify the most appropriate awareness building solutions using messages and tactics that culturally resonate.
Teams will work in breakout groups to brainstorm ideas and will make mini presentations to plenary, guiding and at the same time being guided by the Right Angle Imaging Consulting team who are implementing the CSME Information Flows project, in collaboration with CSME focal point Ministries.
RAI Teams are expected to submit comprehensive integrated strategies in mid December that are based on the inputs of participants
Focal point Ministries coordinating the C4D Opportunity Workshop series include the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Business In Grenada, the Ministry of Trade, Investment Promotion, Private Sector Development and Consumer Protection in Belize and the Ministry of Employment, Trade, Industry and Diaspora Affairs in Dominica.
