Six CARICOM Member States are getting ready to train those who have successfully accessed the CARICOM Single Market to share their stories of triumph and breakthrough with the public and the media. The first set of Spokespersons training began in Guyana on Monday February 9 and will be followed by other training workshops in Dominica, Grenada and Belize starting February 16. Belize’s spokespersons workshop is scheduled for February 25 and 26 in Belize City.
Participants are being mobilized from a variety of industries and sectors and include persons who have accessed Skills Certificates, traded in goods under the Common External Tariff and established business under the CSME Rights of Establishment. Other participants will also be drawn from public sector agencies on the front line of Single Market response and action, including Competent Authorities for the various CSM regimes.
Sessions are designed to equip participants to effectively share their stories, to pass on information on how to access the CSME regimes and tips on overcoming challenges including the well established CARICOM Complaints procedure.
Participants who have successfully completed the two day 10-hour training workshop will be officially inducted into the prestigious CSME Spokesperson Bureau.
